Chinese New Year decorations include flowering potted plants, associated with auspicious meanings, to enhance the festive atmosphere. The dahlia symbolizes magnificence and prosperity, while Kalanchoe blossfeldiana, known as the longevity flower in Chinese, symbolizes good fortune and hope for a long life.

The Prosperity and Longevity - Chinese New Year Flower Show showcases these two popular flowers. Young Sun, Yong Song, and Good Horticulture, all nurseries based in Nantou County’s Puli Town, have provided beautiful flowering potted plants for this exhibition.

Taking place in the Botanical Garden of the National Museum of Natural Science, this exhibition provides insights into these flowers, while encouraging a respectful approach to plant variety (or plant breeders’) rights.
