Grow Old Happily

The rapid aging of Taiwan's population is a significant issue, and how to respond to this problem is an important task at this stage. In order to establish a dialogue platform on elderly issues, the National Museum of Natural Science has organized an exhibition focusing on "old age." They have introduced unique interactive formats on elderly topics from abroad through the Active Aging Association Taiwan . During the exhibition, 28 elderly guides were selected and recruited to share their life stories with the audience, leading them to see the diverse aspects of "old age." In addition to interacting with the elderly guides, the exhibition also features a simulated section where visitors can experience muscle loss and unsteady walking, as well as wheelchair and grip strength experiences. This allows people to experience the lives of many elderly individuals. Furthermore, the exhibition also provides some interesting facts, such as citing statistics from the UK, where research found that on average, a person changes 469 pairs of shoes in their lifetime. These numbers are intended to give the audience a stronger sense of "a lifetime" and a more concrete understanding of the journey of life.
