我們與病毒之間的距離,可能只是隔一個口罩而已。醫用口罩由外層防水層、中層過濾層(熔噴不織布)和內層吸水層構成。從顯微影像中,可明顯看出熔噴不織布的纖維最緊密、孔隙最小,也是醫用口罩最關鍵的一道防線。不過病毒比那些孔隙更小,所以熔噴不織布需再加上靜電,才能有效捕捉帶有病毒的飛沫。口罩纖維在偏光顯微鏡下,因其材質、粗細和熱處理方式的差異,呈現出不同的色彩,希望我們早日與病毒拉開距離,迎向彩色人生。

Introduction

Often it is only a face mask that separates us from viruses. Medical face masks consist of outer waterproof, middle filter (melt blown, non woven), and inner absorbent layers. From microscopic images, it is clear that in the melt-blown non-woven layer, fibers are densest and pores are smallest, making this layer the most critical line of defense for medical face masks. However, viruses are even smaller than these pores. Therefore, the melt-blown non-woven layer needs to be electrostatically charged to effectively capture virus-laden droplets. The variations in color under polarized light microscope are due to differences in materials, thicknesses, and heat treatment methods. It is hoped that we can soon distance ourselves from viruses, while welcoming a colorful life.
