大頭蛇屬於具有後溝牙微毒的夜行性蛇類，主要捕食鳥類和蜥蜴。樹棲型的大頭蛇，有著細長的身體便於穿梭樹林間。蛇發現一隻在樹上過夜的黃口攀蜥，隨即咬住其頭部叼離植物，並開始吞食。攀蜥的花紋藉由吞食撐開的皮摺隱約顯現，自被蛇發現到完全吞食耗時15分鐘。蛇類是生性隱密的野生動物，記錄到其捕食行為相當不容易！

The square-headed cat snake is a nocturnal snake with slightly venomous rear-fanged teeth that preys mainly on birds and lizards. The tree-dwelling snake has a long, slender body that allows it to move easily through the trees. When the snake finds an Okinawa tree lizard spending the night in a tree, it bites its head off the plant and begins to eat it. The pattern of the lizard was hidden by the folds of skin that were opened by the swallowing, and it took 15 minutes from the time it was found to the time it was fully consumed. Snakes are secretive wild animals and it is not easy to record their predatory behavior!
