走在青桐林的溪床中進行夜觀，正值褐樹蛙繁殖季的當下，可見許多金黃色的雄性個體。這隻左腿伸直的褐樹蛙，很快地吸引我的注意，水下暗藏兇猛掠食者！拉氏明溪蟹正箝住牠的腳掌並開始啃食，褐樹蛙難以輕易逃脫。這種無脊椎動物掠食脊椎動物的景象實屬難得。

Walking along a creek bed at night in the Qingtong Forest, many male robust Buerger’s frogs (Buergeria robusta) were out, noticeable due to their golden hue, as it was mating season. This one with its left leg outstretched quickly caught my eye. A fierce predator was lurking beneath water. This Rumsfeld stream crab clamped onto its foot and started nibbling away, making escape difficult for the frog. This is a rare sight of an invertebrate preying on a vertebrate.
