細蟌科蜻蛉具有細長的腹部。交配時，雄蟲會先以腹部末端的把握器夾住雌蟲的前胸，雌蟲願意交配時，則將尾部舉起，將自己第九腹節的生殖器，放至雄蟲第二腹節的生殖器上，與之連結進行交配。此時兩者呈現的畫面就像是一個可愛的愛心，非常唯美浪漫。本組影像依次呈現了紅腹細蟌（圖1）、青紋細蟌（圖2）、葦笛細蟌（圖3）的美麗心形連結。

The abdomen of damselflies in the family Coenagrionidae is long and slender. The male uses claspers at the end of its abdomen to clamp onto a female’s pronotum. If willing to mate, the female lifts up her tail and places her genital opening, on her ninth abdominal segment, onto the male’s secondary genitalia on his second abdominal segment. Once connected and ready to mate, a heart shape is revealed, which is beautiful and romantic. These images are of: Ceriagrion auranticum orange-tailed sprite (Image 1); Ischnura senegalensis common bluetail (Image 2); and Paracercion calamorum dusky lilly-squatter.
