葉蟬吸取植物的汁液，經過消化道的過濾，將多餘的水分和糖排出體外。偶然在步道的葉片上發現，這隻忘我進食的葉蟬，將口器深深的扎入葉脈，後足縮起、腹部微抬，一滴又一滴的水珠排出，滴到葉面上形成小水漥。

Leafhoppers suck the sap of plants, filter it through their digestive tract, and excrete excess water and sugar. Unexpectedly, on a leaf along a trail, this leafhopper ignored me as it ate, its mouthparts penetrating the leaf veins. It then retracted its hind legs and lifted its abdomen slightly, excreting translucent pearls of liquid, one at a time, forming a tiny puddle on the leaf’s surface.
