蝠魟、海龜、鯨鯊是潛水初學者最渴望遇見的物種。俗稱「魔鬼魚」的蝠魟，常吸引潛水員到國外一賭風采。蝠魟以優雅的泳姿，在潛水員的頭頂不停盤旋，與牠的俗稱不同，其實是個溫柔的生物。剛好遇上風浪轉變，把浮游生物帶進綠島中寮港的外沙地，阿氏前口蝠鱝以濾食浮游生物為主，貼著沙地像吸塵器般捕食浮游生物，然後從容地與我擦肩而過，再展現華麗的後空翻絕技。

Manta rays, sea turtles, and whale sharks are among the marine animals that novice divers desire to encounter. Many divers travel abroad in the hopes of seeing a manta ray. These are gentle graceful creatures that often hover above divers’ heads. The reef manta ray filters seawater to catch plankton. There was a shift in the wind and waves that brought plankton to the outer sandbar off Chongliao Port, Green Island. This reef manta ray stuck close to the sandbar, acting like a vacuum cleaner as it fed on plankton. It then calmly passed by, showing off with a gorgeous backflip.
