擬小環豹紋蛸又名豹紋章魚，因身上具有藍色圈狀花紋，又稱藍環章魚或藍圈章魚，以劇毒聞名於世。目前確認具毒性的物種棲息於澳洲海域，而臺灣海域物種毒性未知。一隻警戒中的個體，正顯現出其身上的藍圈花紋。

Blue-ringed octopuses have a leopard-like pattern, except for the blue rings, and belong to the genus Hapalochlaena. They are known to be highly venomous. Currently, the toxicity of the species found in the waters off Australia has been confirmed, while that of the species found in the waters around Taiwan has not. Pictured here is the warning display of this octopus with its blue rings clearly visible.
